About the Artist
Sophie is a self-taught illustrator with a Psychology degree whose artwork reflects her fascination with people, human connection and the subtleties of emotion. Drawing is a way for Sophie to take back control of an overwhelming world by representing it in her own way and simplifying it to just line forms. After becoming chronically ill a year ago, she went from being being busy all the time to someone who can 'achieve’ very little each day. This has made her more appreciative of the small things in life, which are something to be celebrated in themselves - like smelling a flower, sitting in the sun, hugging a loved one. Her aim with drawing is to bring focus to those moments of joy and connection, and put the magic back into the mundane.
